Services & Consulting
Glass Product Development Services
Developing a product with custom glass components involves more than choosing the right manufacturing process. Design, tolerances, material behaviour and manufacturability all affect the final result, whether glass is the product itself or part of a larger assembly.
Contour supports companies developing products that rely on curved and tempered safety glass. Support ranges from feasibility and engineering to prototyping, production and technical guidance. Services can be used individually or combined, depending on the needs of the project. All services are delivered directly by Henk Verhoeven, founder of Contour Precision Glass, with decades of experience in glass bending and tempering.

Consulting & Engineering Support
The way a glass component is manufactured affects its performance, assembly, quality and production costs. Early engineering decisions can therefore have a direct impact on the final product.
Contour provides consulting and engineering support for products where glass has a functional, structural or aesthetic role. This includes projects involving curved or tempered safety glass, where manufacturing options can influence design decisions from an early stage.
Consulting can address a specific technical question or support a project from concept through production. The advice is based on practical production knowledge and the technical possibilities of specialist glass processing.

Feasibility and Design Decisions
Early assessment can help determine whether the intended glass specification is achievable and which manufacturing approach best fits the product.
Consulting may include:
Addressing these questions early can reduce uncertainty before prototype development or production.
Glass Prototyping & R&D
Before investing in production, it is important to verify that a design performs as intended and can be manufactured efficiently.
Contour develops functional prototypes for products that incorporate curved and/or tempered glass. These prototypes can be used to validate a design, test production methods or evaluate technical feasibility before production begins.
Developing Functional Prototypes
Prototype development focuses on creating functional glass components that accurately represent the intended design.
Depending on the project, prototypes can help to:
A project may involve a single prototype or a limited series, depending on what needs to be tested or validated.
Testing Before Production
Prototypes can be evaluated for manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, functional performance and processing sequence. The results can reveal where the design or manufacturing approach needs further refinement before production.
From Prototype to Production
Once a prototype has been validated, Contour can help determine the most suitable production approach. Manufacturing may continue at Contour or, where appropriate, transfer to another production partner.
To determine the next step, we have to consider the required quantities, technical requirements and production method. Prototype results can also help improve the production process before larger quantities are produced.

Production of Custom Glass Components
Contour manufactures custom glass components for products where glass has a functional, technical or aesthetic role. Production can be commissioned as a standalone service or follow directly from consulting or prototype development.
Specialising in curved and tempered safety glass, production ranges from single components to small and medium-sized series, including recurring production. Where required, multiple glass processing techniques can be combined to create finished components ready for assembly.
You can find more information about the available processing techniques on our Glass Solutions page.

Technical Guidance & Training
Contour provides practical technical guidance and tailored training in glass bending, glass tempering and related manufacturing processes. Training can be used as a standalone service or as part of a consulting, development or production project.

Tailored to Your Production Process
Training is built around your products, production process and technical challenges. Depending on your objectives, sessions can cover glass bending, glass tempering, combining both processes and practical process optimisation.
Sessions can take place at your own facility, with discussions and demonstrations focused on your equipment, products and production environment. This makes it easier to apply the knowledge directly within your organisation.
The training is suitable for engineers, R&D teams, production specialists and operators. International on-site training is also available.
Working Directly with an Experienced Glass Specialist
Henk Verhoeven, founder of Contour Precision Glass, works directly with clients throughout the project. His experience in curved and tempered safety glass combines practical knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and product development.
Working directly with the same specialist provides a direct line of communication throughout the project. This makes it easier to discuss technical questions, design decisions and production considerations throughout the development process.
