About Contour

The glass specialist behind Contour Precision Glass

When you’re developing a product that requires custom glass, choosing the right manufacturing partner is about more than production capacity. You need someone who understands the technical challenges, thinks along with your design and can help turn an idea into a manufacturable solution.

Contour Precision Glass was founded in 1992 by industrial designer Henk Verhoeven. Originally known as Contour Glasbuigerij in the Netherlands, the company now operates internationally as Contour Precision Glass and specialises in custom curved and toughened glass for technical and design applications. Today, Contour supports engineers, product designers and manufacturers with projects ranging from feasibility studies and prototypes to small production series.

As an independent glass specialist, Contour offers direct collaboration throughout the entire process. Every project is handled personally by Henk Verhoeven, giving customers a single point of contact from the first technical discussion through to production.

Built on Experience

Contour’s roots lie in industrial design. After graduating from Delft University of Technology, Henk Verhoeven started designing and producing his own glass products, ranging from lighting and furniture to interior accessories.

As more companies approached Contour with increasingly complex projects, the focus gradually shifted from developing products to manufacturing custom glass components. Curved and toughened glass became the company’s core specialisation, serving customers in industries where precision, reliability and manufacturability are essential.

Over the years, Contour built the expertise needed to produce these specialised components. That meant mastering a wide range of glass processing techniques and, where necessary, developing dedicated production equipment in-house. This combination of design knowledge and manufacturing experience continues to shape every project today.

A Personal Approach to Technical Projects

Working with Contour means working directly with the person who evaluates, develops and produces your project. There are no separate departments or handovers. This makes communication straightforward and allows technical questions to be addressed quickly. Design intent, manufacturability and production methods are considered together from an early stage.

Whether you need a prototype, a custom component or a small production series, the goal remains the same: to find a practical and reliable solution that fits your application.

If your project requires multiple manufacturing techniques, the Glass Processing Capabilities page provides an overview of the available processes. You can also explore the Industries page to see how custom glass components are used across different industries.

Let’s Discuss Your Project

Every custom glass project starts with its own requirements. Whether you’re still exploring design options or preparing for production, an early technical discussion can help identify the most suitable approach.

If you’re looking for a glass specialist with more than 30 years of experience in custom curved and toughened glass, feel free to get in touch. We’d be happy to discuss your project and explore the possibilities together.
